*EXECUTIVE BOARD NOMINATIONS*
All Executive Board officers are nominated and elected by the Local Union
membership. All Executive Board officers are, by virtue of their office,
members of the Joint Council and the Bargaining Team. All UAW Local 4123
members who have been in continuous good standing for one (1) year prior to
accepting nomination are automatically nominated for the following
Executive Board offices for terms ending in May 2016:

ninety (90) days prior to accepting nomination are automatically nominated
for Head Steward for terms ending in May 2016. All Head Stewards are
nominated and elected by the campus membership. All Head Stewards are, by
virtue of their office, members of the Joint Council.

*NOMINATION PROCEDURES*
Members may accept nomination for no more than one Executive Board, Head
Steward, or Steward position. Each member who wishes to accept nomination
must indicate this intention in writing by mailing, delivering, faxing, or
e-mailing an acceptance of nomination for the specified position(s) to:

Written acceptance must be received at the Sacramento office (above) no
later than April 24, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. The written statement of acceptance
should state how the nominee wishes her/his name to appear on the ballot.

*CANDIDATE STATEMENTS*
Members accepting nomination may also submit a candidate statement (up to
500 words) by the nomination deadline of 5 p.m. on April 24, 2013 to UAW
Local 4123 Elections Committee at the above address. The statement will be
posted on the UAW Local 4123 web site (http://www.uaw4123.org) and at the
Union’s offices no later than May 1st, 2013 and will be available at
polling sites during the election.
In addition, a member may nominate another member for a position specified
above. If a member chooses to nominate another member, s/he must notify UAW
Local 4123 of the nomination in writing within the first five (5) days of
the nominating period by mailing, delivering, faxing or e-mailing the
nomination to UAW Local 4123 at the above address. The nominator is
required to notify the member s/he nominated for the specific office, so
that the nominee will be aware of the nomination and of her/his obligation
to follow the nomination procedure as described above. If a member is
nominated and the nominator fails to notify the nominee, such failure will
not invalidate or excuse the member’s responsibility to accept such
nomination within the established acceptance deadline of 5pm on April 24,
2013.

All members in good standing at the time of the election are eligible to
vote at their campus. Membership may be obtained at the polling sites.
Members will be asked to present a form of photo ID at the polls. Those who
join at the polls must show proof of membership eligibility (campus
graduate student status or campus bargaining unit employment status). The
election will be by secret ballot. Write-in candidates are not permitted.
Voting must be in person. There will be no absentee ballots. If any
position is uncontested, the candidate shall be considered elected and no
election for that position will be held. All candidates for Executive
Board and Head Steward positions must be elected by a majority of valid
ballots cast for that position; all candidates for Steward positions must
be elected by plurality of valid ballots cast for that position.
*RUN-OFF*
A run-off election, if necessary, will be held on the following days and
times at the following locations.
