Be the Voice of Your Department
You cannot spell Union without the "U." As a steward, representing your department or your campus, you put the "U" in the Union. You will be the connection between the executive board of the union and the members in your department and on your campus. You will be a leader who mobilizes individuals in your department and reports on the issues affecting your peers. You will not only be contributing to the continued protection of the rights of your peers, but you will be ensuring that they have a stronger voice in bargaining unit, when it comes to bargaining for what to improve at our workplaces.
What you will be doing:
Be a direct means of communication between our Union and your peers in the department
Report to the union leadership on issues affecting your department
Mobilize members in your department
Stay in touch with other stewards on your campus and across the system
Hold meetings to discuss issues affecting the membership
If you are a member in good standing, you can become a steward on your campus (even if you are not an ASE anymore, but are in the program, you can become a steward). If you are interested, please fill out the form below and someone will be in touch with you shortly.
